This expanding module increases the amount of inputs by 8 (the main units X3 and X4 have 20 inputs of the same type). The local unit enables the connection of resistance and voltage sensors, also for the use in the alarm and automation system. These are the sensors: PIR, rain, humidity, soil humidity, liquid level, flooding, fire-detecting, wind force, gas and others.

A short look at the LEDs – you easily get fast information about the activity of individual outputs, power supply and the communication to the system. After installation the background lighting can be turned off in order to to reduce the power consumption.
A reed contact is used as a part of the alarm system as well as an element automatically determining the turning-on of any circuit (e.g. lighting in the dressing room after opening the door). Also, it is used for turning-off the mechanical ventilation system or the air conditioning when it detects an open window. The indication is also often connected with the indication of the rain sensor. If both sensors are turned on at the same time, Nexo may notify the resident, and take autonomous action, like closing the windows if they are provided with an appropriate cylinder.
Movement sensors are usually used to detect presence while the alarm system is armed. In the case of Nexo, when the alarm system is disarmed, the same sensor can be used for turning-on any circuit, for instance lighting, groups or action sequences.
Any information from this sensor can be used for the automatic closing of windows or cancelling the work of the garden sprinklers.
This sensor is placed several centimetres below the surface. It is informing the system about the state of the soil, and allows deciding to launch action sequences of the garden sprinklers.
Fire-detecting sensors are essential elements in every home, not only intelligent ones. Connecting them to Nexo, and their appropriate programmed action scenarios can save lives. The most often programmed functions, in case of detecting fire, are sending text messages to selected people, notifying the control unit of the security service, optical and acoustic signalling, and raising the blinds to enable evacuation.
The gas-detection sensors are a necessary protection in case that sedative gases are detected inside a building. Especially prone to this are objects equipped with mechanical ventilation systems. Insertion of gas into the air will cause a rapid and effective spread inside the building. The connection of this sensor type will result acoustic and optical alarm, text message notification of certain people, and notifying the security service.
Using awnings and some blinds requires from time to time their closure, in order to protect against a large force of wind. The anemometer measures that force, and continuously transmit this information to the system. On this basis, Nexo can prevent damage in any critical moment closing the awnings and blinds. If the information about a higher wind speed is also relevant for a household member for another reason, this person can informed by text message or somehow else, like with a blinking LED RGB lighting in a chosen colour.
This sensor is mainly used in rooms where there is a high risk of flooding, like laundry room, bathroom and kitchen. The detection of liquid causes the closing of the electro valves by the system, and notify the resident.
To facilitate the mounting of the modules in the switchboard, each of them is equipped with appropriate connectors, enabling connection of the control cables outside the module, and then plugging the bunch into the appropriate socket. This way of work ensures connection quality and reliability of the module over years. Additional convenience brings the bus rail ensuring digital communication between the devices. Thanks to its use the launch is fast, and the connection of the communication lines is durable and reliable. The whole connection is also aesthetically pleasing and easy for every engineer.
